GO AHEAD TURN<\/strong><\/em> is a feature-length hybrid documentary exploring cultural inheritance, poetic knowledge and the relationship between a filmmaker, his father and his son. Now entering its final post-production phase, the film is being prepared for festival exhibition and distribution. Working with filmmaker and professor<\/mark><\/a> <\/mark>Frank Sanna<\/mark><\/a> and supervising sound designer Bruno Pucella<\/mark><\/a>, you will help build the film\u2019s soundtrack in Pro Tools, working progressively through picture-locked scenes in preparation for the final sound design and mix.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The work may include<\/strong> Schedule and internship structure<\/mark><\/strong> Typical commitment<\/strong>: one or two full days per week<\/mark>, depending on the participant\u2019s availability and academic requirements. For-credit internships or apprenticeships normally involve approximately 120\u2013140 hours, subject to departmental approval. Strong candidates able to commit one full day per week are also encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The positions are unpaid and are intended primarily for students seeking academic credit through an internship, apprenticeship or another arrangement approved by their program. Students pursuing credit are responsible for obtaining departmental approval and arranging for an eligible faculty supervisor. Concordia graduate students and advanced undergraduate students are invited to join a small sound-editing team for a placement beginning in late September 2026, based at Concordia University\u2019s Centre for Digital Arts (CDA), located in the EV building on the downtown Sir George Williams campus. GO AHEAD TURN is an independently produced film project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Assessing and spotting scenes for dialogue, ambience, effects and sound-design needs
\u2022 Sourcing sound effects from libraries, recording, editing and synchronizing sound
\u2022 Building and maintaining organized Pro Tools sessions and audio files
\u2022 Contributing creatively to the evolving soundscape of the film
\u2022 Participating in regular reviews and receiving feedback on work in progress
Who should apply<\/strong>
The placements are intended for creative students with a serious interest in sound and in developing their practice in film sound editing.<\/mark>
Candidates should have prior experience working with digital audio and be prepared to develop their Pro Tools proficiency independently. Orientation to the project and its workflow will be provided, but the placement is not designed as introductory software training.<\/strong><\/em>
Care, reliability, initiative and an attentive approach to sound are essential.<\/em> <\/mark>The film includes material in English, French, Italian and Sardinian; knowledge of French, Italian or Sardinian is an asset but is not required.

Approximate schedule<\/strong>:
Placements will begin in late September 2026 and will normally continue for approximately ten weeks.<\/mark> Depending on the participant\u2019s availability and academic arrangements, a placement may extend into the winter term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Team members who complete the placement will receive a screen credit reflecting the work performed (typically Assistant Sound Editor or Sound Editor). A professional reference may also be provided upon successful completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
