Fall 2026 | Montréal

GO AHEAD TURN is a feature-length hybrid documentary exploring cultural inheritance, poetic knowledge and the relationship between a filmmaker, his father and his son. Now entering its final post-production phase, the film is being prepared for festival exhibition and distribution.

Concordia graduate students and advanced undergraduate students are invited to join a small sound-editing team for a placement beginning in late September 2026, based at Concordia University’s Centre for Digital Arts (CDA), located in the EV building on the downtown Sir George Williams campus. GO AHEAD TURN is an independently produced film project.

Working with filmmaker and professor Frank Sanna and supervising sound designer Bruno Pucella, you will help build the film’s soundtrack in Pro Tools, working progressively through picture-locked scenes in preparation for the final sound design and mix.

Schedule and internship structure

Approximate schedule:
Placements will begin in late September 2026 and will normally continue for approximately ten weeks. Depending on the participant’s availability and academic arrangements, a placement may extend into the winter term.

Typical commitment: one or two full days per week, depending on the participant’s availability and academic requirements. For-credit internships or apprenticeships normally involve approximately 120–140 hours, subject to departmental approval. Strong candidates able to commit one full day per week are also encouraged to apply.

The positions are unpaid and are intended primarily for students seeking academic credit through an internship, apprenticeship or another arrangement approved by their program. Students pursuing credit are responsible for obtaining departmental approval and arranging for an eligible faculty supervisor. Qualified Concordia students not seeking academic credit are also welcome to apply.

Team members who complete the placement will receive a screen credit reflecting the work performed (typically Assistant Sound Editor or Sound Editor). A professional reference may also be provided upon successful completion.

To apply
Please send a short statement describing your interest and relevant experience, together with a résumé and, if available, a link to previous sound or media work.

Applications reviewed as received. Apply promptly for a late-September start.
Selected students seeking academic credit should begin the approval process promptly; Concordia internship request forms are normally expected by September 21.
